2024 – 2025 Membership Drive
The Greene Dreher Sterling Community Fair Association is currently holding a membership drive hoping to increase community participation and create awareness of fair activities. Membership dues are $3.00 per year.
Why become a Member
The GDS Fair is the oldest community event in the area. Originally organized as an agriculture event, the current fair strives to maintain its original traditions while recognizing changes in technology, society, and conflicting priorities so common in lives today. The Greene Dreher Sterling Community Fair Association relies heavily on our member volunteers to plan, organize, and run the Fair and other events each year. In return, the commitment we have to our community is great. Many local non-profit organizations utilize fair week as a major source of revenue, the Fair introduces people from all walks of life to our beautiful communities, and fairgoers are often those supporting our local economy. Also, the GDS Community Fair Association gives scholarships to local residents each year.
What being a Member Means
Being a member means having a voice in planning, organizing, and running GDS Community Fair Association events. It also means volunteering your time to support the fair in whatever capacity you’re able. There’s certainly plenty of work and many ways that you could help year-round, from maintaining the fairgrounds, being on a committee, and even helping with paperwork. Whether you’re able to spend a few hours or a few weeks, you’ll find our members friendly and the work satisfying. Please join us and make our fair the best fair.
