Fair Royalty Program & Contest

Fair Queen – ages 16- 20
Jr. Fair Queen – ages 13-15
Princess – ages 10-12
Jr. Princess – ages 7-9

The purpose of the Greene Dreher Sterling Fair Queen competition is to encourage the promotion of Agricultural Fairs and create better relations between youths and adults in rural and urban settings. The Greene Dreher Sterling Fair Queen is a high honor bestowed upon a young woman in the community who represents the outstanding qualities found in our youth today.

Each Fair Queen and Jr. Fair Queen will receive a crown and sash. The winner will also receive flowers. The Fair Queen will receive a cash prize upon completion of a year’s service and a paid trip to compete for the title of Pennsylvania State Fair Queen in January at the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs Convention held in Hershey, PA.

There will be an informative meeting will be held in July or August for all Fair Queen and Jr. Fair Queen contestants. The on-stage contest and crowning will be held August 29, 2026 at 6:30pm. The deadline to enter is June 30, 2026. There is no cost to enter.

Apron Contest

Calling all creative individuals—don’t miss your chance to showcase your talent by entering the GDS Fair’s Apron Contest!

The GDS Fair’s Apron Contest requires participants to design aprons using the theme fairs and carnivals. Accepted apron types include half aprons, bib aprons, or printed aprons. All entries must be newly made in 2026, showcasing creativity within the specified styles.
